Mitte is Berlin’s shopping heaven. In Mitte you will find cool design labels from local Berlin clothes artists, the biggest Absinth depot you have ever seen, vintage furniture, huge bookstores and rugs inspired by children’s scribbles.
If you go to Ikea you will probably find a much cheaper carpet, but it won’t be as ubercool as the rugs from Rugstar. They have rugs inspired by kids scribbles, with texts like ‘I am running an errand to fetch milk’, wild tigers and frivolous insects. Your Berlin home zimmer will never be boring again if you can stare all winter long to your new carpet.
Yes Ain’t Less, What have you done for me lately, mermaid meat and Life is too short to learn German. Big Bears with a keg of whiskey saying they are Unathletic Berlin Dudes. At the Dudes Factory they sell t-shirts, hoodies, skateboards and art with a funny Berlin twist without taking themselves too seriously. And that is exactly what makes them so cool.
They sell pieces of Berlin Wall as well, painted by local artists.
Angelique Verte, Blanchette, Diable Rouge, Opaline. It sounds like the names of beautiful, slightly develish girls, but it are the names of Absinth. You can buy the green fairy at this large shop in the middle of Mitte. They have about one hundred different Absinth brands, so if you want to feel like as happy as a fairy for the rest of the day, try your luck at Absinth Depot.
